Why The Easiest Tech Jobs to Fill are Not

logo

An article out of Inc. has caused a slight stir among those of us who are extremely skilled in tech work, but yet are not hired because we don’t live near big cities.

The article, The 5 Hardest Jobs to Fill in 2012, claims that jobs in web marketing, web site development, analysis, product management, usability, and software application development have the most demand for workers but the jobs remain open. Is there a shortage of talent?

Hell no!

The problem is not with a lack of skilled workers. The problem sits squarely in the lap of human resources and expectations by management to fill positions that typically require expertise in areas not related to the job opening, certification rather than work experience, someone to do the work of 2 or 3 persons instead of one, poor pay, relocation, and the refusal to permit commuting from home.

August marks the 13th year that Cre8asiteforums has been online helping web site owners and search engine marketers make better web sites. We’re known for discussions without the bull crap and ego.

I like cre8asite because there is virtually no spam, discussions are very high quality, posters are very generous, I get great advice and the discussions range to almost any aspect of running a website. In comparison to SEOChat it is a bit sleepy because the population of posters is a lot lower. This place has been abnormally active the past few weeks with lots of great discussions. Perhaps this is the beginning of a trend?

A thread started by someone who left a well-known, but ad-crazy and over-spammed forums, may be pointing to a new trend, where quality content wins and the old days of real discussions are back. Discussion in I’m Gonna Be “here” More.
