Hey all,

just wondering if anyone had any predictions when the next major update is? I knew there was an update about 10 days or so ago...just a query!

Thanks all,

Ab

I'm expecting PR to change in the next few days - hopefully for the better...

pretty much every 2 weeks there is an update. Update of indexed pages, followed by a PR update.

Is the PR update every two weeks, as well Peter?

Perhaps it depends when the Google staff are having a quiet period and can watch these forums and laugh in an evil way at the madness they have unleased on the world for another couple of days.

I wonder who does actually press the button that triggers the updates or does Google just wait until it's got to a certain number of spidered pages before going kabooomm....?

Btw Rushy, please remember Google is an enlightened company and promotes equal opportunities, therefore describing the staff as "the boys" could be seen as attempting to undermine this image and causing massive detrimental effects upon the worldwide "understanding" of Google thus resulting in a lower than expected shareprice when launched.....maybe I should have been a lawyer!? biggrin.gif

For those who follow these things, my Google link: count has suddenly jumped from 293 to 1,290 within the last 24 hours. My Yahoo! link count stays about 20,900.

Isn't there some guy who's doing a PhD thesis about all this stuff? smile.gif

Dunno when or what happens any more. I have one page I use as my 'test', it's positions changes almost every day - it has been up to 17 and down to 21 and never seems to be stable for very long.

How does this link count work? What is the syntax to check the whole site?

Ta very much. Got to go and do some work now. After a cup of tea of course - British traditions and all that.

links counts on several of my sites have increased by a factor of 10 at least. Others remain unchanged.
