The Google Forum

This is the forum devoted to all things Google, as opposed to being about broader "Search Engine Optimization", or "Other Search Engines and General Search Engine Discussion" (which are the titles of other forum areas at Cre8asite). The distinctions can be important in determining what kind of replies you'll get, so be sure that you choose the right forum for your topic.

If, for example, you wanted to know if a particular thing could affect your position on any and all search engines, not just Google, you'd probably only get replies about how Google would react if you posted it here. The more apprpriate General Search Engine Discussion forum would get you the wider perspective, including Google, since it would not imply that Google was your sole interest.

How come there's a special Google forum anyway?

Well, Google has become a fixation. Many webmasters report that Google's search index accounts for 80% of their entire search related traffic. As a result, many people do ask questions specifically about Google, not including the broader range of search engines.

Are there any questions I shouldn't ask?

Not really, but it is certainly worth checking to see if it has already been discussed and answered in the hundreds of prior discussions. Some topics keep coming up regularly, and its best just to simply refer to the earlier discussions. Many of the more established forum members may have already posted an in-depth reply that they won't be likely to repeat often, so asking again without checking first could make you miss some of the best advice.
