QUOTE(Gmail Team)
To celebrate our one-year birthday, we're giving everyone one more gigabyte. But why stop the party there? Our plan is to continue growing your storage beyond 2GBs by giving you more space as we are able.

QUOTE(Gmail Team)
The Gmail Team is excited to announce that, over the next several weeks, we are introducing rich formatting to all of our users. To make sure the feature is fully stable, we're giving users rich formatting in phases ...

Last checked, rich formatting worked for me, but Google has only added an extra 96 MB to my 1000 MB so far :(

Cool. I read that the other day but obviously didn't since I completely missed the part about increasing the size of the mailbox - shows how important bullets and headers are for attracting the attention of the reader since I caught everything about fonts and colors and formatting, etc

Nice! Mine now says "You are currently using 114 MB (8%) of your 1357 MB." Still a bit more to go for my 2gbs.

MSN and Yahoo both increased their storage capacities after the launch of Gmail - I wonder if there will be more competition now?

I wonder whether people like me need the extra space - You are currently using 2 MB (0%) of your 1892 MB.

If you stay signed out and on the main page of Gmail long enough, you will see your number of bytes increase - literally so. Google's crazy way of doing things I guess...

By my quick check, it seems to add 1 kb every 25 seconds that you are connected. It then seems to remember the count the next time you open the page again. That's pretty slow if you really want to get to infinity. sad.gif

I thought it added space even while you are not using it (not connected).

You may be right, whitemark, since it seemed to have jumped quite a bit when I went in again. My page before I log in shows this at the moment.

Is everyone at the same level now?

Just noticed something when I copied a 'related resources' link (the one Gmail shows below the ads. The url goes something like this :

... pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/pageclick?client=ca-gmail&type=1&channel=AccountAge120toInfinity&redir_url= ....

Account age 120 to Infinity?
