Hello all,

I posted this at SEOChat, but I figured that news might not spread as fast as it should. While in New York hanging out with people like Kim K herself and Bill S., I was able to meet and talk to Eytan Seidman - the program manager for MSN Search. I emailed him when I got home and was able to interview the MSN Search team through a Public Relations contact. The interview is online at http://www.socengine.com/seo/guide/msn-sea...-interview.html

Enjoy!

It's not chock-full of SEO tips, but there is some interesting stuff in there.

Also, thanks for welcoming me to your community - I'm very excited about my new moderating duties.

Nice interview Rand. Perhaps a shame they weren't a little more open, some of the answers have the distinct sense of saying something, while not really saying anything at all wink-2.gif

Though the last one was good, about areas they are looking to expand in.

MSN Search: Local, blogs, mobile, API’s and RSS are all important next areas of development for us and anyone serious about Search.

Mainly things where they are playing catch up anyway, but still interesting.

The 5 billion + documents is quite a number too. Google's got just over 8 billion quoted on the homepage right now, but it's still a pretty impressive number.

I received the answers to the follow-up questions yesterday around 4pm, the initial questions were answered a week earlier.

They weren't particularly forthright, but at least they're talking to the community. I wish I could say the same of Google.

Mate,

Thats gold.

I love MSN Search and its great to see the human side.

MSN has moved into second place on our stats meter behind Google.

Its a 3:2:1 ratio of traffic with Google:MSN:Yahoo respectively.

Yes, that is the good side. Whatever kind of communication it is, at least there is communication smile.gif
