Has anybody noted how long google is taking to index sites now?

I notice sites getting indexed fast, not getting a PR number.

Anybody else notice this?

Take care,
Toni

It's definately getting very quick for indexing new pages on sites such as our travel forum (see ad smile.gif) with an index time of around 2 days on average (quickest was around 4 hours!) and very nice rankings as well (thank you Google!).

As for PR, I believe thats only calculated after each Google dance although there has been talk of real-time PR calculations.

That's right, Trev, although once Google has calculated a PR for the root domain page, it will usually show a 'guesstimate' or 'ghost' PR value for pages within the site that it hasn't actually calculated a real PR score for. The 'ghost PR' is simply based upon the relationship of the unknown URL to that of the root. A page at the root level (other than the homepage) would be 'guesstimated' to be one PR lower than the homepage, while the same 'guesstimation' takes off one PR value for each sub-domain level deeper than the root too.

Genuine PR scores are only calculated at the time of a dance, currently.
