The keyword seems to be "history", "news" triggers a news box on top of the listings, history brings years with news and / or blog entries on the bottom. The results pages I saw did not have any "other" ads on them at all (logged in and not logged in) (with one exception).
Some examples: http://www.google.com/search?q=twitter+birds+history ( $4.95 / pay-per-view / pay-per-view ) http://www.google.com/search?q=twitter+wren+history ( subscription / subscription / pay-per-view ) http://www.google.com/search?q=twitter+history ( pay-per-view / pay-per-view / $4.95 ) http://www.google.com/search?q=cre8asiteforums+history ( free!! ) http://www.google.com/search?q=adsense+history ( subscription / free / $9.95! ) http://www.google.com/search?q=mesothelioma+history ( subscription / free / free ) http://www.google.com/search?q=cancer+history ( $4.95 / $4.95 / free + one ad) http://www.google.com/search?q=bush+history ( $4.95 / $4.95 / free + music one-box on top) http://www.google.com/search?q=history+of+the+mountain+lion ( $4.95 / $4.95 / free + book search one-box on top) It seems as though everything has a subscription history http://www.google.com/search?q=history+of+rock+juice+jpg http://www.google.com/search?q=secret+history+of+kim+krause http://www.google.com/search?q=holistic+se...sses+in+history John |

I would suggest it would probably work similarly to the Google Base results that are returned on specific product searches ie Dual Fuel range cooker
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&r...earch&meta= This doesn't appear on more generic searches such as range cooker or cooker To the point anyhow, I would presume the 'functionality' of the term and the potential mindset of the client in terms of what they are looking for would need to be equated to a certain degree ie for a search such as seo the blog search would be applicable, however for a more targeted phrase such as 'seo agency' or seo lancashire Google Local (or nothing at all) may be a more suitable. (PS. Hope that makes sense - i confused myself halfway through that) |
