How about a new forum for publishers to discuss adsense, adbrite, textlink ads and others?

We're talking about it in the "backroom" right now, Whitemark - so don't think your request is being ignored!

Thanks for the suggestion!

If there are any other members who'd like to vote for or against the idea, we'd love to hear your views, as well.

Discussion in the 'back room' has shown wide approval for the idea, widened up just a little to include own/custom advertising, and affiliate programs, etc into an overall topic of "Monetizing Your Website".

Great suggestion, whitemark applause.gif

I am not sure about that since it's been a long time since I posted here ... Actually, I wanted to get feedback on an adsense tool that I developed but was confused where to post it. A search showed a lot of adsense and related threads and it seemed like a good idea to have a separate forum for it. Glad that you all seem to agree.

Well, as you've probably already seen by now, the result of your suggestion, plus the creative thinking of EGOL that it inspired, with some extra inspiration from the rest of the team at Cre8asite has resulted in our new "Monetizing Your Website" forum.

As mentioned, this is a forum with a much wider remit than just AdSense, and wider than just plugin ads too. We hope that this forum will provide an interesting and insightful venue for all kinds of discussions relating to adding to (and improving) the revenue streams of all manner of websites.

I see no reason why we would exclude any of the four major revenue stream types that sites can employ:
  • income from Advertising
  • income from Commission
  • income from Sales
  • income from Subscriptions
So this should be just as suitable a forum for those looking to add or widen the revenue generation capabilities of their websites, as for those looking to monetize a previously non-money-making website.

Thanks again for the seed, whitemark. I'm hoping that with care and cultivation we can see that seed bloom into something very impressive.

I hasten to add that I didn't request an adsense forum just for this particular need of mine (though personal interests might have added more momentum to my motivations). It has been on my mind in the past too, whenever I wanted to discuss / participate in an Adsense thread.

Google has forced me to think contextual in everything I do on the web, and the first forum that came to mind to start a discussion on my adsense tool seemed logically to be a google or adsense / monetizing forum, hence my confusion! smile.gif (Ammon has since clarified that the most suitable forum for getting feedbacks on sites / web applications is the website hospital. Thanks.)

That said, I certainly look forward to learn a lot - the breadth of the new forum will certainly give many of us new ideas.
