I have a client who is a non-profit organization. They send doctors and medicine to places where there isnt any. Obviously one of there prime objectives is to raise funds.

I was wondering if anyone has done or has heard of anyone doing PPC to raise money for charity and how successfully it was?

Yay, I love doing good things smile.gif

There are two things where Google (*) can help here:

1. Google Grants - "Google Grant recipients use their award of free AdWords advertising on Google.com to raise awareness and increase traffic." Free PPC sounds good, right?

2. Google Checkout for Non-Profits - "Google Checkout for Non-Profits is a fast, convenient donation process that helps you attract more donors and increase online giving to your organization – and you can use it to process donations by charging credit or debit cards for free until 2009."

Other companies possibly have similar systems and of course what you achieve with these tools depends a lot on the usual work involved with attracting relevant traffic and getting it to convert.

(*) I hope this isn't too much "advertising" -- I wasn't aware of these programs before I joined Google but I think they're good enough to mention here.

Thank you! I didn't know Google Grants existed, either.

This will come in handy. smile.gif

We have worked with two Irish charities and both were granted a PPC "budget" with AdWords through Google Grants. It was a right pain to go through the process though.

PM me if you would like any further specific info.

One of my clients is a non-profit. However, they sell products on their site. It's just that the profits from the sales go to the cause.

I've never read about Google Grants before. Interesting!
