what does 'serps' mean? Im guessing its 'search engine results pages'??

Are there any other common phrases like that, that are used in seo that people should know?

SERPS = Search Engine Results Pages

SEO = Search Engine Optimization (or SEO, as in "person who practices search engine optimization")

SEM - Search Engine Marketing

SEO/M = both

GH: greyhat - says he is WH but does a little BH
IBL: inbound links
OBL: outbound links
CTR: clickthrough rate
CPA: cost per action
CPC: cost per click
CPL: cost per lead
CPO: cost per order
CPS: cost per sale
CPM: cost per thousand
CSS: cussing style sheets
