I'm looking for a tool to help me choose the right keywords for a site I have built. Or rather I have a list of keyword phrases but want to know how valuable and how competitive they are and who may be using them. I have read about Keyword Elite, WordButler but just wanted to know whether it's a worthy purchase. If Keyword Elite can show the top ranking sites with their keywords then wouldn't we all just adjust our keywords to the highest ranking site. If that's the case then does it all knuckle down to how much one is to pay for a keyword/keyword phrase as everybody will be doing the same thing?
I am very tempted by Keyword Elite and would like to know whether anyone uses this tool often and how effective it is.
There are several tools out in the market to help you and there are two key differences.
One set relies heavily on the technology of keyword aggregators. In other words they use computer algorithms to generate additional keyword strings. These tend to be the one-time box solutions and a crap shoot.
The other relies on actual keyword searches for your selected terms. These tend to be subscription services with better quality - yet varying degrees of it.
If you're gonna go the way of the keyword aggregators, I recommend giving Google's Keyword Tools and Microsoft adCenter tools before you buy another box that's going to sit on your shelf.
If you're gonna go the way of the subscription service. Try a couple of them out using their free trials to see which results best suit you. Personally, me...I like [link removed].
