Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I first started moderating at Kim's invitation in the Yahoo club that would eventually evolve into Cre8asite Forums, and it's been a wonderful experience being involved with this forum.

I've been going through many professional and personal changes recently that have begun to limit my ability to give my role as an Administrator of Cre8asite Forums the time that it deserves. I am stepping down as an administrator at the forums, though I hope to continue as a participant.

I've learned a great amount at the forums, being around people with a great amount of talent, and an incredibly wide variety of experiences and opinions on many issues relating to search engine optimization, web design, usability, and a holistic approach to creating and developing web sites as an moderator and administrator of Cre8asite forums, and as one of the founders of the forums.

I would like to thank all of the past and present community members whom I've had the change to participate with here. It's been a blessing to have had the chance to meet and talk with you all.

I've also had a chance to work alongside some wonderful people in the administration and moderation of the forums, and I want to thank them all. I'm proud to have been able to join them in helping make Cre8asite a place where people could come to find suggestions and support, get constructive feedback on web sites, receive answers to questions, and to talk with friends.

The present administrative and moderating team is a strong one, and I look forward to seeing the directions that they take the forum in the future. It's a bright future with this team, indeed. Thank you Kim, Ron, Michael, Adrian, Sophie, Paul, Barry (Welford and Schwartz), Garrick, EGOL, Elizabeth, Joe, Liana, Pierre, Donna (Swain and Fontenot), Miriam, iamlost, and Risa.

Thank you everyone, and I'll see you around the forums.

Bill Slawski

Bill,

I hate to see you go but understand how life changes course sometimes. You have been so generous with your time and knowledge here. I have learned a lot from you about the web and about how to "be" in a virtual community. I am happy that you came out to Sonoma and that I was able to meet you in person. It was fun taking you around.

You will be greatly missed along with the others that have moved on. Please come by often and I wish the best for you in your future.
With affection,
Donna

I just have a feeling that your contributions will continue, maybe not at the same quantity - but same quality.

Respectfully,

Barry S.

Bill,

Now that the day has come, I admit that it's very painful. We worked on this project together for 10 years.

However, your happiness has always been high on my Wish List for you. Your contributions here and to the industry have been outstanding.

Life is precious. Go live it.

We're here when you need us.

Love,
Kim

Thanks!

Hi Dave.

It's been a joy sharing thoughts and observations with you here about local search. I'll look forward to more.

Hi Donna,

It was a real pleasure meeting you and your husband Barry on my day trip to Sonoma, and I'm not sure I ever thanked you enough for your hospitality. It was great seeing such a beautiful place with such gracious hosts.

Hi Barry,

You'll see me here. I just won't be in the back rooms cleaning up spam, or participating in some of the threads back there. smile.gif

Hi Kim,

I've learned so much here as an Admin. I'm looking forward to the continued growth of the forums.

See you all around.

Well, I certainly understand the position, Bill. I know too just how hard a decision it must have been, and the mixed sadness and relief at finally accepting what needs to happen.

You'll always be a part of the fabric of Cre8asite, just as your wise patient approach will always be a part of all those whove known you across these years, Bill.

Take care, old friend. All my very best thoughts go with you. But above all of that, thank you for all the years of phenomenal effort and endeavor you have enriched this forum, and all its readers with.

Thanks Bill.

Life, as they say, goes on and while paths diverge our memories and your 15,000+ posts remain as testiment to your involvement and good great works here at Cre8. You sir, are numbered among my mentors, believe it...or not.

Please add my plea to all the others requesting that you not be a stranger and continue to post your insight and wisdom as (un)common member.

Thank you, Ammon.

It truly was a pleasure sharing Admin responsibilities with you, and your thoughts and thanks are much appreciated.

I'm not sure that I can begin to tell you how much I've learned from you over the past years, but I am without a doubt in your debt for all of your sharing of your experiences and insights.

It's time to let others step in, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they take us.

My thanks go to you too, iamlost.

Your energy and creativity have been a joy to behold on these pages. Hopefully we can continue to learn from each other in the future. Looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

Thanks, EGOL

I've enjoyed and appreciated greatly the wisdom and thoughtfulness that you bring to the forums. I have some new avenues that I'm hoping to explore more deeply, but I'll be around.

Hi Bill:

While I'm saddened by your departure, I do wish you all the best in your future endeavors. You have the unique distinction of being not only the top poster here (it will be years before anyone catches up to your post count), but also for bringing a distinctive perspective on most things. I've learned a lot from you over the years, not only on web relating matters, but also about managing online communities. You have my gratitude and my respect. I'm glad to have known you.

Please don't be a stranger and drop by the forums from time to time, if nothing else, just to say hello.

Hi Bill

10 years in Internet time is almost an eternity. You have been a big part of Cre8asite Forums and it will not be quite the same without you on the bridge. However in your very busy life we all hope you will be passing by from time to time so that we can continue the association.

Thank you for the huge contributions you have provided to us all. Your wealth of knowledge and your diligence in research are phenomenal. The beauty of the Internet is that we are always close to each other, so it will not be difficult to stay in touch. Best wishes in your future endeavors.

Bill - if this were a Trekkie forum I'd say "Live long and prosper, Bill by the sea!" wink-2.gif

Apart from your HUGE amount of internety knowledge, (which you have willingly shared over the years here), you have also been Mr Sense & Sensibility when it came to all things administerial here at the Cre8asite Forums. I can honestly say that I have learnt a bazillion technical SEO/internety bits and pieces from you Bill - as well as a large picnic basket worth of "web forum etiquette" niceties. You're a true "Gentleman of the Internet" smile.gif

Dealing With Change, (a lovely little course a former employer sent me on - in the process of kicking me out of job!), is a toughy. I can still be heard gibbering in the corner of a railway carriage - "Gotta BAN those little b*****ds before they spam the whole forum" wink-2.gif I guess it's going to be a difficult thing not being here in those administerial duties. But Bill - you have set standards and influenced folks here so that your Cre8asite Carbon Footprint is so BIG it can be seen from space...lol... and your guiding influence will still be here, even if you're not here in person. (I feel a Obi Wan Kenobi/Luke Skywalker moment approaching! wink-2.gif)

You're a diamond geezer Bill. Be cool. Have fun. Be Happy! And if nothing else always remember that you can have dancing bananas here whenever you want..... tongue.gif :

Bill, what a weird saturday this is to wake up to! Winter, sunshine, warmth and... you leaving!

It is so very unshakespearean, in that nature should reflect what is going on in the story smile.gif

Good luck with what you do, and be here as much as you can, cause we all enjoy, and more mimportantly learn from, your brilliant posts.

Hi Garrick,

Your professional, supportive, and sometimes unexpectedly humorous approach behind the scenes here at the forum were one of the joys of administration. Thanks. I 've learned an incredible amount from you, too.

Hi Barry,

It's been a pleasure working with you at the forums, with your wise and thoughtful approach to everything that you do. I'll look forward to seeing you here and around the Web.

Hi Paul,

Thanks! Change happens in all things, and it's going to take a while to get used to. Your humor and bright wit have been a bright light here at the forums. Live long and prosper, my friend.

Hi Michael,

Thank you. Your technical prowess behind the forums were always a tremendous help. It's a bright sunny day here this morning. Against that backdrop, I hope it bodes well for all of us in the future. smile.gif

Hi Miriam,

I hope that you enjoy your time here at the forums in the future. I'm looking to get more involved in exploring some new areas that I haven't had a chance to explore, and it's an exciting time. Thanks for the well wishes.

Hi Krumel,

Thank you. I will miss being behind the scenes, but it's time to give others a chance to help steer the ship. Best to you.

Hi Bill

Thank you a million times for all you've done for Cre8 and for me personally: I learned so much from you first in SEO and second as a moderator. You always had good advice and guidance in the back room. I understand that we all have to hang up our hats at some point and move on.

I wish you the very best as you certainly deserve it. Life is never a straight line and it has its ups and downs, and so we better enjoy as much of it as possible. Good luck and *please* don't be a stranger!
