Only done that on a couple of my sites a few days ago, rather than the end of november
 November is way too early to think of xmas, in fact, come to think of it, dec 24th is also too early to think about it |

i guess the idea is to give a feel of the holidays to the visitors rather than reminding them about what day Christmas is.
