[To rant a bit] While I do understand the need of experimentation to test and improve the adsense system, I sometime resent the fact that Google considers its small publisher base as a huge experiment lab oftentime not even asking for permission. Even after it rolls out the 'features' throughout the system after the expriments - eg. displaying single ads in different font sizes and alignments in the multi-ad formats boxes - they don't provide any options to publishers to configure them. (Perhaps this is more particular to me as a designer, we are used to having control over every pixel ... really hate those big center aligned adsense ads; jarrs the whole design of the site! :) [Rant over]
