I Wasn't Expecting This At All...

Woke up this morning and fired up Google Analytics, ready to inspect yesterdays sphinn love...
This first image shows the number of visits and pageviews. Very nice.
This second image shows me that I was totally dead wrong in thinking that sphinn was kicking so much butt.
Goes to show, you can never underestimate the power of stumbleupon.

Do you think Sphinners are more likely to be Stumblers, making Sphinn a good way to court Stumble?
"Computers" is one of the eight "Popular Topics" listed @ bottom of stumbleapon.com... but is that a list of what the site wants visitors to see, or is it really updated according to what's most popular?
 Welcome to Cre8asite, BTW!

Sphinn is certainly in its infancy and the traffic is not going to blow you away by any means. I think one of the main benefits to it (especially for newer people to the industry or bloggers) is exposure. I came across your blog directly from Sphinn after seeing a few different interesting posts on Sphinn by you. Its also always good to be part of a community from the beginning (if you believe in it and think it will be successful) as you can help shape it.
As for your SU traffic - most social networks work symbiotically. For example:
* A tool gets to the homepage of Digg - people then bookmark it in del.ico.us to check out later and then it goes to the del.ico.us popular page as well.
* Someone comes across something in SU and submits it to Digg, etc.
Same thing with Sphinn - many users there have powerful accounts on different social networks and thus can discover content on Sphinn to submit to them.
So the best thing to do is stay as active as possible and keep growing your network.

Good points indeed. Us SEO people are all about joining and contributing to every social network that will let us put up SEO/SEM related articles (well maybe except digg and their charming prejudices against us). Like I said in the post, I'll take the traffic.. it's all good with me lol
