I got permission from Rand to share his news and decided to put in here, in his forum that's he's a moderator for, to help him celebrate.

Yes~!

On Valentine's Day, Rand and Geraldine's romantic TV engagement will be discussed. They fly out to Chicago next Monday to film the segment on Tuesday and he has the air confirmed for V-day.

I bet they show the hilarious video :)

Congratulations to Rand and "Mystery Guest".

You'll mention Cre8asiteforums right?

How cool is that. Congratulations Rand.

When I first saw the title of this thread, my immediate thought was "Why is Oprah interested in SEO?" :)

Garrick -
I thought exactly the same thing. My, we HAVE gone mainstream with SEO, I was thinking :)

Well, congratulations, Rand. That's really something. Now, I hope you've told your fiancee about THIS show and aren't going to spring it on her. I imagine she's had quite enough surprises of that kind to last a lifetime.

I hope someone will YouTube it.

Congratulations to Geraldine and to Rand.

The problem I see is the level of the occassion bar that Rand has set:
* proposal via Veronica Mars and national TV.
* valentines via Oprah and national TV.

* wedding via theDonald?
I can see the finger pointing and hear him say: 'you're married!'

Uhhh!! That's so unreal. (somebody add "like, totally!" ...)

I'll have to figure out where this is... or how.... Or better, maybe someone can tape the show and put the relevant part on YouTube?

Wow - thanks gang. We had the Oprah film crew spend 4 hours here this morning (before we went caucusing for our candidates of choice) and it was a bit surreal - the sad part is that TV, particularly of this type, is not interested in the real story - they're interested in creating a story that they think will fit their audience. The "coaching" of the producer made for some very odd tape - she literally just wanted me repeating what she said, not putting out the story as it is.

Ah well, it's fun, it makes for a great story, and it's exciting to share something like this with friends and family, even those who are far away :)

Rand, well, maybe the taping of the Oprah show was not as exciting and as fun as you and the "missus" proposal/acceptances videos(!), but hopefully, (as Pierre points out), for us UK folks, someone will put it on You Tube, or record it so we can see :)

Is this the start of a long running love affair with the media as well? Are you contracted in with any multi-media organizations for births, baptisms, etc etc :)

HA! Good luck with everything. Life is funny - and you're working it well! :)

They won't show the video until Thursday (and we film the part on the actual show on Tuesday in Chicago - brrr), but I'm sure someone will YouTube it :)

The first thing I thought about, when I saw the thread title was "Now that's a way to go mainstream with SEO!".

However, that's awesome, Rand. Sorry to have your story "produced", I am sure it's better, than what the producer described it to be. Btw, did you try offering some alternative wording "from a marketing perspective"?

Congratulations Rand, that is very cool indeed. As others have posted, I had to do a double take with the title of this thread also.

I bet. Nice to see things from that side though; one of those wake up calls about how what you see is made :)
