Cligs (URL shortener) inventor, programmer, marketer and web developer, with a PhD in bacterial genetics from Cambridge University, Pierre Far aka “eKstreme”, officially announced today he has been hired by Google.com.

That’s the good news. The sad news is that this means Cre8asiteforums loses its Technical Administrator and long-time Moderator. However, we’re very proud and can boast that the forums has lost two of our finest from the Cre8tive Community – John Mueller aka “johnmu” and now Pierre (not to mention some of our moderators who also assist at Google’s Webmaster Forums).

He promises to stop by Cre8asiteforums, just like John Mueller does. Congrats Pierre!

Congrats! Are you in the London office or moving overseas? I was best man for a Googler from Zurich yesterday, and even managed a cheeky Google joke into my speech. Maybe you will meet him if you go there.

Well done there. Just remember - just because the food is free you do not have to eat all the time.

You may know Pierre by his eKstreme nom du web but you may not know why Google so actively sought his expertise...

BEWARE!!!

You are about to enter a Google Zone (those loci where highly intelligent, highly educated persons bound by arcane NDAs collect, collate, combine, recombine, and regurgitate the knowledge of the spheres).

HAZARD!!!

Ignorance is NO defense.
Incompetence is NO excuse.
Either is cause for immediate deletion from all Data Centres, past Supplemental Indices event horizon unto Null, nevermore to pass Rank, all value weightings to count zero interrupt.

For Google is to Matrix as tesseract is to cube.

WARNING!!!

You still here?
'Tis truth what is said about fools, if not that about cats.

The definition of life has just expanded, 02-December-2010.

NASA-funded astrobiology research has changed the fundamental knowledge about what comprises all known life on Earth.

Researchers conducting tests in the harsh environment of Mono Lake in California have discovered the first known microorganism on Earth able to thrive and reproduce using the toxic chemical arsenic. The microorganism substitutes arsenic for phosphorus in its cell components.

Coincidence?
Riiiight!!!

Note the unique 'door' that Pierre will be using...
And the elaborate cooling fins...

Congratulations, DOCTOR Far.

Thanks all. You're making me blush!

I don't know what to say really apart from WOOOHOOO! Working with John is going to be awesome (he started this whole thing, so I blame him 100% :) ) and I can't wait to dig in.

And thank you all for having me here and letting me be admin. It's sad that I have to go but that just means someone better can step in and keep nurturing this place.

And free food or not, I am hoping to ramp up my cycling to be a full 45 minutes each way. I'll be commuting from Cambridge with a cycle ride in Cambridge and eventually also London. Of course baby steps first...

Sounds cool.

JohnMu, I am in the UK, not far from London. My pal works in Zurich. Not really sure what he does, has a small team on the 2nd floor (at least I think it was the 2nd, I popped there once to sample the lunch and play some table tennis, but I had a terrible hangover and a sore heel so avoided the fireman poles!).

Congrats! I once had a client who moved from Canada to California to work for Google and I was really jealous.

He came to see me because he needed a health exam on his pet to get across the border. It was the first time I ever did a health certificate for a mouse.

The darn mouse bit me! But I still signed the health certificate. :)

Hope your new job is all you hope it will be!
