I did the default location as my house.
So for getting directions, I would hope google maps would fill that in (for the to/from field) but it does not. or does it? any ideas on that, thanks!

Still not sure I totally understand. Sorry.

You can set a default city location in your Google account so that this is the map automatically brought up when you look at Google Maps. But as for setting a get-directions-from street address, I don't believe this exists. Maybe it does and I haven't noticed it. I know on my cell, it can track exactly where I am, but I don't know of this in the desktop realm.

Maybe someone else will have some more wisdom to share on this.
