On TechCrunch today:

Google, Yahoo, And Bing Collaborate On Structured Data To Make Search Listings Richer

Thoughts?

(Honestly, I don't have any off the top of my head. Pretty sure I won't be an early adopter.)

Very intriguing. It implies a lot more work in coding but this should be rewarding if the search engines really do take this into account.

At least for the next several years I don't see this being a mark of a quality site. Instead, the mark of a site trying to dance to some possible algo advantage. I doubt that it will be worth much in the algo for a few years.

If it turns out to be kickass I am sure that the word will spread fast... then again, mainly sites trying to dance for the algo will be participants - not a mark of quality.
