Can anyone recommend someone I could commission to draw a couple of cartoons for me? I have some ideas for cartoons that I think would be good link bait but I am a horrible artist.

Also, what kind of price would I be expecting to pay for having a cartoon drawn for me?

James Cook - http://www.studiojmc...about-studiojmc and http://toonrefugee.com/toonblog/

He ran seorefugee.com seo forums with his son Ben Cook (Ben is known as skitzzo and James is known as Pops to those of us who frequented the forum). He's a fabulous cartoonist and just an all around great guy. Dunno his pricing. Say hi for me. :)

I've found that most cartoonist charge more than I can afford to pay. Mainly because cartoons don't convert by themselves. Or at least I use them to keep my readers interested in the rest of the articles.

I work with one guy that charges $10 per cartoon (negotiated deal lower than what he usually charges). He does a really good job too. Here is his website: http://www.jerryking.com/ (tell him Nima sent you).

Another option is fiverr.com . I've gotten some good stuff drawn from there. For five bucks, of course.

Wow. I've never explored fiverr.com before. What an amazing idea for a website!

So, I just paid $5 for a guy to draw this cartoon for me. We'll see what I get!

I also paid $5 for a major band artist with 10,000 facebook fans to suggest my facebook page to his fans. I've never been an advocate for paying for FB likes, but this kind of thing makes sense to me. I'll let you know how it works out.

Oh I use fiverr quite a bit. Sometimes the work is disappointing, but at $5, it's almost a who-cares situation. The results are quite often outstanding, so it more than makes up for the few disappointing ones.

I like this guy's cartoons, but I doubt that he charges $5.

There is a real variation on what people charge for cartoons! James Cook quoted me $250. Jerry King is only $20! He's drawing one up for me right now. So, I'm going to have the same cartoon from the guy at fiverr for $5 and from Jerry King. We'll see which style I like best but I'm guessing Jerry's will win out. I like his style.

I'm going to start a new thread about promoting this cartoon.

I also like how Miriam draws, though I haven't seen a cartoon that she created :)

And yeah, I was going to recommend James Cook as well. I also wonder what the cheaper cartoonists will produce, if they are good, it's a bargain :)

I am blown away by Jerry King's service. He responded to my email and asked what it was that I wanted him to draw. I wrote a few paragraphs of what was in my head and within an hour he drew EXACTLY what I wanted! All for $20. I'll definitely use him again.

I asked Mr Cook at one point on Seorefuge and he's quite expensive... don't expect a 2 digit figure there...

One more kudos to Jerry. He's done 16 cartoons for me so far and I am super happy with him
