Now a clever enhancement would be to tie in Facebook, Twitter etc. so when you Like a post you get the option to tell everyone outside of the forum.

It can be done. I was looking at the Admin, but to add these wasn't understandable. May need some tech help but agree! We have a Twitter acct. No Facebook page but I can set that up easily enough.

I'd definitely set up FB page too (and maybe post new threads on the fb page and twitter too).
I do that on one of my forums and have had good results with it. New forum threads (not replies) are posted to our twitter page automatically.
