Apache HTTP Server announces v2.4: in time to halt defections to nginx?

Numerous enhancements make Apache HTTP Server v2.4 ideally suited for Cloud environments. They include:
• Improved performance (lower resource utilization and better concurrency)
• Reduced memory usage
• Asyncronous I/O support
• Dynamic reverse proxy configuration
• Performance on par, or better, than pure event-driven Web servers
• More granular timeout and rate/resource limiting capability
• More finely-tuned caching support, tailored for high traffic servers and proxies.

Additional features include easier problem analysis, improved configuration flexibility, more powerful authentication and authorization, and documentation overhaul.

Listing of new features.

I've been reading Apache HTTP Server Version 2.4 Documentation until my eyes bleed and my head pounds.

So far so good. I suspect that I'll request an initial server upgrade next week once I have a handle on how I want what configured. The days between now and then will probably seem like exam cramming... Then I'll just watch that server and tweak for at least a month before upgrading a second.

Note: nice to see that after six years Apache simply moved from v2.2 to v2.4... quite refreshing after all the silly browser 1, 2, quite a few, 99, 100 versioning recently.

Not with my knees. Nor with my irreverent attitude. So my appliances are always artificially raised to at least waist level, I may bend but kneel? Ah, 'tis a proposal you'll be making?
