I had been running a WP-based site for about a year or so. Recently, I decided to redesign it by creating a folder on the main domain as www.mydomain,.com/site-2013. For the purpose, I imported all the data from www.mydomain.com and uploaded it on /site-2013 folder. Now, I am almost ready to bring tjhe folder contents to ww.mydomain,coom. What is the SEO way of making the move?

Thanks

I'm wondering why the change in the first place. If it's not an established site with little or no back links, no problem. Otherwise it's a death blow in my opinion...or close to it. Oh, wait a minute there will be no url changes? I see no concerns, just don't go crazy with title tag changes or other suspicious stuff the Gorg likes to trip up.

First you have to make sure that you will never get lose backlinks, authority for those old pages. As you moving it to the new location make sure that it won't create dead internal links on your site. Even whereever on internet you old URL's was shared will get turned in Dead (404 not found) urls and untimetely it will hurt your website traffic, rank and trust.

So make sure to add 301 redirect which will tell search engine that the content is been moved from one place to another. And you user will also get landed on new location.

Here is the one of the best solution from WPBeginner.com, which will give you perfect solution.
