Evening all :)

Like many of you I use Twitter as a marketing tool in various different ways. One of those ways was to use the RRS feed output from "Twitter Search", which used to live over here at this URL: http://search.twitter.com/advanced - but when you go there now you see this message:

The Twitter REST API v1 is no longer active. Please migrate to API v1.1.
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/overview

Which basically means - you're stuffed - no more RSS feeds from Twitter. AARRGGHH! However, there are some very bright people on the internet, and one of them is here: http://www.labnol.or...ss-feeds/27931/ - How To Get RSS Feeds For Twitter With Google Scripts.

It involves going to dev.twitter.com and creating a Twitter app. The most confusing part about all of this is when you log into this development website with your Twitter sign-in you are presented with a HUGE amount of data - none of which is relevant to actually creating an app!? Here's what you do - in the top right hand corner of the page where your Twitter icon is - use the drop down menu and click "Create An App" - and then follow the instructions on the original instructions. I spent about half an hour trying to find the "Create An App" link.... talk about USABILITY, eh? :banana_wgun: :infinite-banana:

Looking at other discussion places it seems that the destruction of the Twitter RSS feed was due to happen mid May, but I noticed it finally disappearing around 11th June.

So, there you have - no more RSS feed from Twitter - but a nice little, (if not slightly complicated), "workaround"

Enjoy :)
