I'm looking for any pointers or advice with the stuff that you can't advertise e.g. e-cigs

I assume it's the same in the US as it is here in Europe? We can't directly advertising them.

I'm only just starting looking into it but never worked in a area that has a blanket blocks on advertising via the normal web channels.

I think it will be an interesting topic with some good research :)

I would guess that rules vary everywhere. And rules are probably subject to change.

Recent news .. http://www.theguardi...ned-advertising

 E-cigarettes

Electronic or e-cigarettes aren’t currently regulated like products that contain tobacco. At the moment, we don’t know enough about whether they are safe, effective or made to consistent quality standards.

So the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is carrying out research on these products - looking in particular at how different levels of nicotine affect the body. We’ll use this research to help us to decide whether we need to take any action on e-cigarettes.
