Interviews

If you've ever attended a search engine marketing conference or shared drinks with industry peers at a pub, you quickly come to realize that behind the brains, brawn and bravado are some hard working, witty folks. Their passion spills over into their Blogs, or the ideas and content you find in their web sites. After awhile you might develop a fondness for a few of them, or not. Maybe somebody really ticks you off. Perhaps someone wrote something in a post that solved a problem for you, or someone answered a question you didn't dare ask yourself.

Who are the people whose names you see over and over again? The Cre8asiteforums Community will be chatting it up with people from all walks of web design and marketing. We invite you grab a comfy chair and listen in...

An Interview with Bill Slawski
by Aaron Pratt, SEOBuzzbox

"Should a link to a page count more if the anchor text within the link seems to be related to the content on the page it links to? Should it count even more if it also appears to be related to the content of the page it is linked from? Those ideas appear in a recent patent application from Google, Multiple index based information retrieval system." -- Bill Slawski

Blog Usability Interview with Kim Krause Berg
By Aaron Wall, SEOBook.com

"A while ago I contacted Kim Krause Berg for a usability review, but I threw a curve ball in on her. I asked her how I could make this blog more usable. I believe Kim is the first person who has ever offered blog usability review services."-- Aaron Wall

"The number one usability error bloggers make is not explaining to the reader who you are and why you have a blog." -- Kim Krause Berg

An interview with Barry Schwartz
By Kim Krause-Berg

Barry Schwartz is a moderator for several SEO Forums, including Cre8asiteforums. He's better known as "Rustybrick", which is also the name of his New York-based web design company, the Rustybrick. Recently, Barry made a bit of history when he used Ask.com to ask his fiance to marry him. Barry landed on the Cre8asiteforums' doorstep with a wild idea to start a blog that featured forums threads. We didn't know him very well, but we thought his ideas were clever, so the Cre8asite Ancients (i.e. several moderators and admins) rallied behind Barry and supported his launch of the SearchEngine Round Table. His site has become one of the most popular daily reads for anyone in the search engine and web design industries.

Interview with Ammon Johns
by Rand Fishkin, of SEOMoz.org

For those who may not be aware, Ammon Johns is one of the most revered and experienced SEOs in the world. Though his profile isn't as prominent as some of his peers (you can find him posting as Black_Knight at Cre8asite), Ammon has been in the business since the mid-1990's, working in an incredible array of verticals, achieving enviable levels of success. In this interview, I asked Ammon about his background, his recent move to the London firm - The Search Works - and his passions in SEO.
