Does anyone have a good, methodical linking strategy for unrelated websites? I maintain around 20-30 clients, and feel that there's a more efficient way of linking between them. I know the perils of linking to unrelated themes, but I'm trying to refine a strategy modeled around affiliate site rings, or mini-webs. (I've also used websites scattered across different subnets that have keyword specific content within them pointing back to client sites.)

Many of the clients are real estate agents, so I know I can link them together, but feel that there's a way to incorporate all the others, in addition to maximizing the effectiveness of keyword sites.

Would be interested to hear what works for people in this context.

Not to.

Anything else isn't a methodical strategy, its a spam trick.

It is the easiest thing in the world to gather links for a site if the site is good, and the company is respectable. So why cheat? One trick, spotted by anyone, will soon ruin the reputation of the company, leading other webmasters and SEOs who know what they are doing to see the whole bunch of sites as a PR0 just waiting to happen.
