      20 Years! Cre8asiteforums 1998 - 2018   01/18/2018

Cre8asiteforums In Its 20th Year In case you didn't know, Internet Marketing Ninjas released many of the online forums they had acquired, such as WebmasterWorld, SEOChat, several DevShed properties and these forums back to their founders. You will notice a new user interface for Cre8asiteforums, the software was upgraded, and it was moved to a new server.  Founder, Kim Krause Berg, who was retained as forums Admin when the forums were sold, is the hotel manager here, with the help of long-time member, "iamlost" as backup. Kim is shouldering the expenses of keeping the place going, so if you have any inclination towards making a donation or putting up a banner, she is most appreciative of your financial support.

Need To Get Relisted In Yahoo

Recommended Posts

For whatever reason, I have a site that won't show up on Yahoo. It's been like this for quite a while. I got top rankings in Google but can't be found in Yahoo. I think it's safe to say that Yahoo must consider the site to be spammish or something. Where can I contact Yahoo webmaster division to try and persuade them to list my site again?

Since there were no answers, should I assume it's not possible?

It is possible to rank well in all of the major search engines, but sometimes there are things that prevent it from happening.

I'm not sure that there is anything specifically like Google's reinclusion requests in Yahoo, but there are ways to contact Yahoo's customer care, from within some of the different topics in Yahoo Search Help:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/index.html

Here's the page to the quality guidelines there:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/basics/basics-18.html

At the very bottom, there's a heading: "Is this enough information?" and yes and no buttons. If you click on the no button, you'll see a form where you can provide more information, and maybe get a response.

sg1 - If you want to shoot me an email or PM with the site, I'd be happy to take a look (and, fingers crossed, get it through to someone at Yahoo! who can help).

Rand, Bill,

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, upon some further scrutiny, I think I know what might have happened here. It was some screwing around on the client's end that might have caused this. I believe I can rectify it w/o involving Yahoo so fingers crossed. Thanks for the offer Rand, as I'm sure you have a busy schedule as it is.

Please tell us more, sg1 :)

What kind of "screwing around" was your client doing? I am not sure how it could influence only Yahoo if it was something general. Please elaborate, thanks!

What could be the age of the site? how many back links does it have? If everything is normal, then its better to contact the Yahoo authorities. Hope the problem would be resolved soon.

Hey guys,

Well, I emailed Rand privately told him the issue and it basically involves a 301 redirect. Though a 301 redirect isn't possible.

Anyway, here is what happened. I did a search for the domain on yahoo. Sure enough, it showed up but it's parked at the registrar's domain page. Well, the http://mydoman.com is parked But the same domain search on Google and MSN says it is ok regardless if it's http:// or http://www . So apparently this issue is systemic within Yahoo for some reason?

So I had to go fix the CNAME so that the http:// [w/o the www.] will work. Godaddy is my domain registrar and as always their tech support was of limited help . I think the issue is resolved but I have to give it a couple days so that it will propagate through the system. Stay tuned....

PS. there is enough backlinks and the age of the site is over a year so i know those aren't factors in this.

Well- it worked. The domain itself is now showing up on Yahoo and doesn't direct users to the parked domain page at Godaddy. I'll have to give it a bit longer to see where the site ranks again within Yahoo.

Though, I find it weird that this happens only to Y and not G or M. Anyone know why?
