Css Image Rollovers

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I'm actually losing all power of rational throught thanks to these image rollovers and I hoped someone might be able to help.

This is the site I'm working on. As you can see I have successfully managed to make image rollovers on the homepage.

My problem arises when i tried to make another version for the toplevel navigation on the inside pages. I cant see where I'm going wrong. I used the same code and just tweaked all the ID's & image names.

Could anyone spot where Im going wrong? The homepage & the inside pages have separate style sheets.

Pointers would be VERY much appreciated x

Just a thought, have you tried changing the

#nav a#venue {background:transparent url(images/top_venue_over.gif) -100px -100px no-repeat;}

to something like:

#nav a#venue {background: url(images/top_venue_over.gif) -100px -100px no-repeat;}

so you can at least see the images. It might also be worth adjusting the position call to see if that makes a difference.

But I can't see the problem, it's a bugger. And if it's any help, I spend three hours yesterday tracking down an errant bit of padding that IE liked but FF didn't.

Nope. That didnt work. CSS makes me want to gouge my own eyes out.

And now the invisible button Ive stuck over the logo is knocking everything out of alignment. Grrr!!

I think this is the problem:

#nav{float:left; display:block; z-index:50;}

#nav a#venue:hover {background-position:0 0; z-index:50;}

Both have a z-index of 50 which might have something to do with it.

Homenav doesn't have a z-index:

#homenav{display:block; width:500px; margin-top:110px; float:right;}

If it works do I get 50% of the fee?

Argh I just came back to say I pixed it. I dont know how. I just started from scratch again, got one working and went with it.

Why does CSS have to be so infuriating?!?! Thank you for taking the time to help me! Much appreciated!

@upcloseandpixelated:

I noticed an omitted word on the following page:

http://www.upcloseandpixelated.com/lochstock/travel.html

To help the environment why not hop on a train or bus? The train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the Inn. We'd all like to help the environment, so why hop on some public transport?

THe end of the last sentence should have why NOT hop

Cheers
