There are no absolutes. Of course, you don't have to do anything like anyone else. However, the home page is the place that gives your visitors an overview of what they can expect inside. It's good to have, but isn't essential.

 

Take a look at wired.com or gq.com to see how home pages can be used to organize various topics, and give the user a sense of what they can expect to find inside.

Most home pages will show a short piece of each post, with a link to read more, which then leads to the full post. These short versions are called excerpts. So you may show the most recent 5 or 10 excerpts, or you may show 3 of the most recent in politics, 3 of the most recent in relationships, and 3 of the most recent in careers. (With 3 just being an arbitrary number - use whatever number you'd like).

I have called it articles for all, do you think blog sound better?

Six of one; half a dozen of the other. In other words, it doesn't matter what you call them. It's your preference.
