      Thank you! Cre8asiteforums 1998 - 2018   01/18/2018

Internet Marketing Ninjas released many of the online forums they had acquired, such as WebmasterWorld, SEOChat, several DevShed properties and these forums back to their founders. You will notice a new user interface for Cre8asiteforums, the software was upgraded, and it was moved to a new server. Thank you for your support as we turn 20 years old.

New Forums 2018 News and Updates

Recommended Posts

While I wait for Jim to make his announcement, those of you here already are aware that he sold Cre8asiteforums back to me.  I chose to move them to Invision's servers since they know their product and can provide expert tech help for them if needed.  When we moved them over, I requested that the software be updated, which they did.

I dropped the outer shell, the WordPress side used for the blog, the newsletter, etc. What we have at the moment is a forums.

That said, there are many options that come with the software that didn't before, from blogging, to clubs, to commerce. I've been exploring but not making any commitments to anything.  A few people here have expressed an interest in being able to teach something like Master Level courses, subscription based and private to students. That's something I hope to offer here.

There is a Classified commerce option, for members to sell products and services.

There is a way to let people write blog posts, but I'm not leaning in that direction unless it will help bring in revenue to help pay for hosting, etc.  As in, the blogger pays to play.

There are private groups and clubs options.

I'm experimenting with topic sponsors with the logos you see here.  Too many of them and they would be distracting. I don't want banners all over the place.

I would like to find a way to provide dates for events like conferences, workshops, and announcements for new tools, for a small fee to post it.   Expenses are not huge at the moment but if we grow, they will.

For now, it is myself and iamlost holding down the fort, but you all notify us the second you see spam so you all are moderators really.   Registrations are still not automatic and must be approved. That has really helped us over the years with keeping the content integrity intact.

Am open to your ideas as always.  https://invisioncommunity.com/ is where you can see the new toys that come with the software these days.

Yup. I'm in chill-mode until all the final paperwork is signed and stuff but am thinking about what to play with in 2018. :D

Still working my way around the back end. I remarked to my husband that I haven't blown it up yet.   It's never wise to let me drive.

There was an attempt to hack into the forums Admin, as well as an uptick in the number of fake registrations or people registering for the sole purpose of spamming. In fact, one of them linked to a 2012 article that recommended these forums as a place that allows signatures with followed links for new members (which we do not), in answer to the question, "How did you learn about Cre8asiteforums?"

I set up a new 2 factor system for registrations and members who are new and have not established themselves as anything other than lurkers.

Regular members should be left alone.

Let me know if you have log in issues so that I can be sure I have the settings correct.

Oh, and hats off the to person who tried to register because they were looking for a "threesome".

I kid you not.

A threesome...lol... must be some old SEO algorithm/technique or something? :infinite-banana:

It's an Ammon (Black_Knight) classic: how to get indexed and well ranked in Bing what was Live Search, what was Windows Live Search, what was MSN Search (a lot of confused transitioning over at MSFT) and in Google and in Yahoo all at the same time.

Ah the good olden days when SEOs were Search Engine Optimisers. These days the typical SEO is a Google Addict suffering crushing angst while frantically chasing their next hype high.

Porn of a different sort. But with equally unrealistic plots, characterisations, endowments, and results.
